What is Minbu?
Minbu is an online backup service, meaning your files are backed up over the internet to our servers (or ‘cloud’, if you like). There’s no hardware for you to buy and you can start backing up immediately.

How do I back up my files?
By signing up and installing the Minbu software on your Mac or PC. Once signed up, you’re automatically backing up. Once installed, you can choose which files you want to backup.

How much does Minbu cost?
Minbu currently offers three subscription plans for unlimited storage space.

Two year subscription – $190 (or $7.91 per month)

One Year subscription – $120 (or $10 per month)

Month-by-month subscription – $15 per month

What payments options do you accept?
We accept VISA, MasterCard, and Discover via our website.  Payments are automatically re-billed according to the plan you sign up for.  If you choose the monthly subscription, you will be charged $15 per month automatically.  If you choose a yearly subscription, you will be charged $120 annually.

Where is my data?
Your backups are encrypted and stored on our servers, located in Minneapolis, MN.

What security measures do you use to keep people from seeing my data?
Before your data is sent to us, it is encrypted using 448-bit Blowfish encryption technology.  By comparison, most online banks only use 128-bit encryption.

I have a lot of files.  Is it going to take a long time for me to get backed up?
Most of our customers get completely backed up within a matter of hours. Your backup may take a shorter or longer period of time, depending on your internet connection and the amount of the data you’re backing up.

How do I access my backed up files?
You can access your files from the Minbu software on your computer, or by logging into Minbu.net.

Are you going to look at my files?

No.  The only way for anyone to see your files is to have your username and password.  Please see our privacy policy under “personal data”.

What if I want to cancel?
You can cancel anytime via our website.  Please be aware that if you cancel your subscription, you will lose access to your backed up data.
